About the ETA
Profile
The ElectroTechnology Association was formed in 1998 by amalgamating two long standing and respected groups, the Electronic Appliance Guild and the Electronic Technology Services Association into the Appliance and Electronic Industry Association, which name was changed to our current name in 2007.
The association provides a powerful voice representing retailers, service dealers, suppliers and technician, in each of the home appliance, consumer electronics and portable appliance sectors of the industry. Our association is an industry representative body, which means that we do not act for employers or individuals alone. Anybody or any company associated with any of the service sectors may join.
It also provides a valuable interface between our customers and the industry, if a need arises for independent assistance of any kind.
The Association is managed by a central office, under the direction of a Board of Directors, who are elected annually from within the membership. The Board comprises representatives from retail, service and supply sectors of the industry.
The main aim of the Association is to provide integrated, unbiased representation and support to the industry at every level - from lobbying Government and its statutory bodies, to simply supporting its members in the efficient and professional operation of their businesses.
The latter includes the monitoring of global trends, the arranging of appropriate training via the Industry Training Organisation, the dissemination of strategic information and the provision of member concessions of various kinds, designed to reduce operating costs and improve efficiency.
Members use their membership as a means of enhancing professionalism in their own businesses and fulfilling a role they generally have neither the time nor expertise to undertake as effectively in isolation.
The Association is available to help, and members and consumers alike, are invited to contact us by phone, fax or e-mail.
